Rokugo Takeuchi

15th February 2018

Like the Kariwano Tug-of-War, the result of Rokugo Takeuchi is also believed to determine the rice harvest for that year. Participants from the north and south sides of the town wear protective headgear and are equipped with six meter long bamboo poles, which they use to rain down blows upon the other side. There are three rounds of approximately two minutes each and, before the third, a bonfire in the center of the battle is lit, making for a flashy ending.
